Club Championship 2008-09
New tournament rules has produced the desired effect with only 3 games to play.
Round 1 results went according to grade except for a good win for Mark Rojinsky who beat Nigel Hepworth although new member Dave Keddie had a lucky win against Dragan Dragicevic - you can see all round 1 games here!

Nigel Davies GM simultaneous
The President’s Lunch this year was held at the Ukrainian Club consisting of a buffet and a simultaneous chess game against Nigel Davies GM. 14 members battled it out against Nigel and all were eventually defeated although President, Nigel Hepworth was the last to fall after 68 moves! His game is here! The event was enjoyed by all and marked the start of our chess season.

Huddersfield Chess Club
Formed in 1852, the Huddersfield Chess Club is one of the longest running clubs in England and is still a very active club supporting all levels of player.
The Club meets every week running many internal tournaments with trophies to play for. Teams are entered in to the Yorkshire League, the HDCA League and the Calderdale League so there is plenty of playing opportunities for all members.
For juniors, there is the Huddersfield Junior Chess Club who meet every week during school term times.
The Club also runs a 3 day Congress and Rapidplay tournaments during the year.
